Pediatric Feeding Certification


Program and Certification
The Pediatric Feeding Certification (PFC) Program has been developed due to a growing need for the effective, efficient and ethical treatment of children with feeding disorders. The treatment of pediatric feeding disorders is often not only ineffective and inefficient, but also not based on current scientific research. Our goal is to help create a unified standard of treatment of pediatric feeding disorders which will allow practitioners to effectively treat feeding disorders, to conduct research, and to facilitate cohesive communication with other feeding therapists and researchers.
Who is a potential candidate for the Pediatric Feeding Certification Program?

To qualify for the Pediatric Feeding Certification Program you must first meet the following criteria.

Potential Candidates:
1.     (OT) Licensed Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant.
2.     (SLP) Licensed Speech Language Pathologist.
3.     (Psych) Graduate degree in psychology with major emphasis in behavior analysis.
4.     (RN) Registered Nurse
5.     (RD) Registered Dietician

Pediatric Feeding Certification Process:

1.     5 credits Intermediate Feeding Seminar: Must pass exam
2.     5 credits Advanced Feeding Seminar: Must pass exam
3.     Must pass final comprehensive exam.


Once requirements are completed applicant will be presented with a Certificate of Completion from the Pediatric Feeding Certification Program.

Maintaining Pediatric Feeding Certification Current:

Every  two years subsequent to completion of Pediatric Feeding Certification, therapists must attend a 5 credit continued education seminar to keep certification status current. Continued education seminars ensure certificants of the Pediatric Feeding Certification Program are up to date on all current research and advanced treatments.

Certifying Pediatric Feeding Competency
